The English Language Program is an intensive program designed to teach English language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. Since ELP is located at the center of the UNF campus, students will be able to meet and interact with the average student at American universities.

The ELP program is a member of FIEC (Florida Intensive English Consortium), UCIEP (Universities and Colleges Intensive English Program) and English USA, and is approved by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).

Location

The English language program at UNF is located 10 minutes from Jacksonville Beach and takes 5 minutes by bus to St. John's Town Center, one of the largest outdoor shopping malls in Northeast Florida. UNF is located in nature conservation and has spectacular views and wildlife. It will take you two hours to get to Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios in Orlando.

Curriculum

The English Language Program is an intensive program designed to teach English language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The curriculum of the English language program combines the formal acquisition of academic skills with the communication method of English language teaching. Classes are skillfully combined: reading and writing and listening and speaking. Grammar is a separate subject.

The program has 6 levels of instruction: Beginning, High-Beginning, Intermediate, High-Intermediate, Low-Advanced, Advanced and Pre-University, with auxiliary enrollment options. All students are in the classroom 22 hours a week except those who are admitted simultaneously; These students have 12 hours as an ELP student and a 3-credit course as a UNF student. ELP's academic program is rigorous to prepare students for a better university. Our dedicated and highly qualified instructors will help you learn English effectively.

TEFL Program

The TEFL Certification Program is designed for those who want to learn English abroad. It is a four-week intensive program, with 44 additional post-instructional observations, which enables students to acquire effective English language adaptations and practical learning strategies to adapt to any cultural environment. ELP Faculty

All ELP instructors are highly skilled and can earn advanced degrees in TESOL or closely related fields.

Housing

The Department of Housing and Residential Life provides accommodation for all students who wish to remain on campus. UNF Housing offers a variety of accommodation options such as shared-room options as well as personal options. If students want to stay off-campus, the ENP office can advise students looking for apartments in the UNF area.

University of North Florida

UNF is one of 11 private institutions of higher learning in Florida. UNF is located in a natural reserve surrounded by wildlife areas including lakes and natural trails. UNF provides a number of facilities for students, including two resort-style swimming pools and a state-of-the-art fitness facility.

The University of North Florida has six colleges: College of Health, College of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Computer, Engineering and Construction, College of Education and Human Services and Honors College. There are 4 undergraduate and graduate degrees, including international students from about 40 countries, and about 15,000 students.

Like every public college in Florida, UNF requires an institutional TOFL admission score of 500 for postgraduate admissions and a score of 550 for undergraduate admissions. SAT / ACT is a requirement of the State of Florida for undergraduate students with less than 60 transfer credits. Graduate schools require GMAT or GRE scores.

Jacksonville

Jacksonville is located in northeastern Florida. With more than 840 square miles, it is the largest city in continental America.

Jacksonville has mild winters and hot summers. During the nine months of the year you can enjoy Jacksonville's three main beaches: Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach. These are located about 10 miles from the UNF. There are many restaurants, parks and shops on the beach.

Jacksonville hosts a number of cultural events, such as the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, the nation’s second largest country and the National World of Nations Celebration, which features a variety of events, food and crafts from different countries.
