UPF holds 3rd Rally of Hope
The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), an NGO holding general consultative status with the United Nations, organized the third Rally of Hope Sunday.
The virtual event broadcasted live from Cheongshim Peace World Center in South Korea, started at 6:30am (Bangladesh standard time) with the theme "Rally of Hope for the Realization of a Heavenly Unified World", said a press release. More than one million people took part in the august rally globally.
Dr Hak Ja Han Moon, the co-Founder of the UPF, adorned the chair of the program and delivered the keynote speech. Other notable guests were Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Colombian Parliament Speaker German Alcides Blanco Alvarez, former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The Little Angels Folk Ballet of Korea offered a special performance to honor the Korean War veterans.
One of the stated UPF objectives according to their brushier is the "peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula and harmonious relations among the nations of Northeast Asia." Towards this goal, UPF is creating the vision of a global democratic, free-market-driven society, centered on the universal values emerging from the family.
